What Do I Do With A Glut Of Berries?

Boost your body with seasonal summer berries

Berries provide a wonderful nutrient-rich burst of flavour and add colour to our creative cooking. Their low impact on our blood sugar levels make them suitable for people with blood sugar control issues such as diabetes, infections such as candida, and other conditions requiring a low sugar diet. Rich in healthy antioxidants (especially organic berries) they also have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial compounds and are high in vitamin C, benefiting our full spectrum of body functions.

Eat them fresh, top your salads or desserts with them, turn them into coulis, berry ice cream, sorbets or no-added-sugar jam, jazz up your overnight oatmeal, purée and fill up your ice cube tray with over-ripe ones to enliven drinks and add frozen ones to your winter smoothies. Aim to use or freeze promptly the freshest possible in season for maximum nutrient content. Berries frozen at their best still pack a nutritional punch.
