Self-care has taken on a new meaning since the pandemic. At Natural Health, we understand the role that beauty plays in self-care, from boosting our confidence to helping us de-stress. That’s why the Natural Health Beauty Awards are so important to us. So, after months of testing, shortlisting, and more testing, it’s time to discover the best beauty products of 2021.
The rise of natural beauty
The importance of purchasing natural and ethical products is on the rise. And that’s no more evident than in the beauty industry. In fact, more of us prefer to shop for organic beauty products than any other type of product. What’s more, this demand for natural, organic and clean beauty means the natural cosmetics market is expected to be valued at over 54.5 billion dollars by 2027!
But with an increasing number of brands guilty of greenwashing, it can be difficult to navigate what’s truly natural. That’s why the Natural Health Beauty Awards testing process is so rigorous. So how does it work? Every year, we invite holistic and complementary beauty brands of all sizes to enter their products into the awards. Our in-house team of experts then test products against strict criteria, including efficacy, scent, texture, packaging and ingredients.
We’re serious about the natural criteria, too. That means none of the products can contain non-natural ingredients such as parabens, petroleum, mineral oil, phthalates, microbeads or synthetic fragrances. The shortlisted products then get sent to our judging panel for another round of testing. This year’s panel was made up of industry professionals like celebrity cruelty-free make-up artist Justine Jenkins. Household names like Sadie Frost and Jasmine Hemsley also joined us.
So, now that the judges have had their say, we’re excited to reveal the results. From vegan make-up and plastic-free skincare buys, to afro hair products and facial scrubs – here are the best beauty products of 2021. This year’s results were once again revealed by Lisa Snowdon at our virtual ceremony. Watch the ceremony to find out who won big.
